E-Bike Rental Rules

1. Driver Requirements

• All riders over the age of 18 must provide a valid government-issued ID.
• Minimum age to drive is 16
• Riders under 18 do not need an ID but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Only riders who have completed the required waiver may drive

2. Where You MAY Ride on Fort Myers Beach

• On paved roads
• In designated bike lanes
• On shared-use paths
• On sidewalks if riding under 15 mph

3. Where You May NOT Ride

(STRICTLY ENFORCED)

• On the beach or sand (including shoreline)
• On sand dunes or protected areas
• In the Gulf of Mexico or water
• E-bikes must stay on FMB and never transported

4. Florida E-Bike Law Basics

• E-bikes are treated like bicycles under Florida law.
• Obey all traffic laws. Ride with traffic, not against it.
• Use proper hand signals when turning.

5. Helmets & Safety

• Helmets are provided and REQUIRED for all riders.
• No headphones in both ears while riding.

6. Prohibited Use

• No alcohol or drugs while operating.
• No stunt riding or racing.
• No passengers
• No towing coolers, carts, or equipment.
• No off-road or trail riding.

7. Sand & Water Damage Policy

Do not ride or park on sand or in water.

• Sand or saltwater can damage motors, batteries, and drivetrains.
• Any damage from sand or water exposure is the rider’s responsibility.

8. Theft & Locking Policy

• Bikes must be locked when unattended.
• Lost or stolen bikes are the renter’s responsibility
• Lock up e-bike in equipment garage nightly

9. Charging

• Only charge e-bikes when under 50%
• Bikes can be fully charged in 2-hrs
• UNPLUG e-bike once fully charged

10. Weather Policy

• Afternoon storms are common.
• Return bikes immediately if lightning is present

11. Mechanical Issues

• If something feels wrong:
• Stop riding immediately.

• Do not attempt repairs.

12. Refunds

·        NO REFUNDS ONCE RENTAL BEGINS
